The Lower Class
The lower class of the 17th century in England mostly consisted of ordinary workers and farmers. These people had to work very long hours in ordered to get paid minimally. Their living space was very small and cramped; entire families would live in only one or two rooms. These people would eat mainly bread and beer, they occasionally could afford meat or cheese. Many of the lower class lived in extreme poverty and could not turn their lives around. Instead they would break laws to try and find a way out of their depressed lives.
